Tutorial: Crochet chart reading

I found some nice pattern in my UFO’s and draw the chart:

Read the chart bottom up and starting from the left side.
Each row changes its direction:
  • first row (starting chain) - from left to right
  • second row - from right to left
  • etc, like a zigzag.
Some charts don’t have arrows and rows’ numbers, but there is a tip: the chains at the beginning of the row show the direction.

Snegurochka mitts: slip stitches

I should say that Russian crocheters are not very familiar with slip stitches. We use them just for joining in round or adjoining motifs and pieces. I unvolved sl sts for myself suddenly when read about Bosnian crochet. And now am in love with them! This is so fast, neat and sl st patterns by MsWeaver are always so feminine and wearable.
